Trail End

TRAIL END IS open daily from April 1 through December 14. Please consult the following schedule for seasonal hours:


April 1 through May 31

  • Open 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm daily
  • Open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday)


June 1 through August 31

  • Open 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily (including Independence Day)


September 1 through December 14

  • Open 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm daily
  • Open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Labor Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday)
  • Closed Veterans Day
  • Closed Thanksgiving Day


December 15 through March 31

  • Closed to the public
  • Staff available for information, deliveries and research

FEES


There is a daily use fee in effect at the Trail End State Historic Site. By legislative mandate, as updated in 2019, the fee schedule is set as follows:


  • Resident Daily Use Fee (age 18 and over)
    • June through August - $3.00 per person
    • Rest of Year - $2.00 per person
  • Non-Resident Daily Use Fee (age 18 and over)
    • June through August - $5.00 per person
    • Rest of Year - $4.00 per person
  • Bus Tour Participants - $5.00 per person (age 18 and over, year round)
  • Children 17 and Under - FREE (must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Casual Grounds Use - FREE (includes photo sessions, picnics, etc.)
  • Event Grounds Use - Contact site personnel (weddings, reunions and other large events)


We accept credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express), cash and personal checks (with ID).



PERMITS


Annual Daily Use Permits (granting unlimited entry to all state parks and historic sites) are also available:


  • Resident Annual Daily Use Permit - $40.00 (Early Bird rate - $34.00)
  • Non-Resident Annual Daily Use Permit - $70.00 (Early Bird rate - $63.00)


Annual Camping Permits are also available to Wyoming Residents:


  • Resident Annual Camping Permit - $50.00


Note: "Early Bird" permits are available from January 1 through February 15. Visit the Wyoming State Parks and Historic Sites website for information on purchasing annual permits. Also contact SPHS for information on the state's camping fee structure.

​Fees are not charged for elementary and secondary school groups or for groups from state or federally funded hospitals and prisons.
