BUTTERFLIES

We are very fortunate to have a colorful variety of butterflies enjoying our flower gardens throughout the spring and summer. We hope you'll take the time to watch them as they flutter about.

We have tried to identify the butterfly species correctly. If we have erred, please let us know.

FOR BEING LOCATED in the middle of a residential neighborhood, Trail End has an interesting variety of wildlife visiting its grounds. Some - such as black bears and snakes - are quite rare. Others - deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits - can be seen on the grounds on a daily basis.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE SQUIRRELS!!!!!

If you encounter wildlife while visiting Trail End, please do not approach them. No matter how cute and cuddly they might look, our animals are WILD and may BITE with or without provocation. The museum grounds are their home, and we want them to feel welcome here.
